The 707 Hub is a radically student-centered, boldly anti-disciplinary innovation space that is a catalyst for any student
looking to act on an Idea.

Marquette students are keenly aware and inherently driven to want to try and solve the complex problems that face our world. By choosing to participate in any of the HUB's programatic, mentoring or course offerings in Innovation and Design Thinking, students will develop or broaden their capacity to become the change the want to see in the world, to Be The Difference and to become innovators for the greater good. It's Innovation AMDG.
The 707HUB believes that everyone has the capacity to innovate because everyone has experiences. The innovation could be a process, a product, a service or solution. It could be large or it could be small. It could be a radical new way of doing something or a tweak to something that already exists. The only thing that separates an innovator from everyone else is the decision to act.
Entrepreneurships isn't just about spinoffs and start ups, venture capital and risk-taking. It isn't even really just a 'skill set' or a 'mind set' but rather a complete way of operating. Students may or may not form a company, but that doesn't mean that they can't learn how to think, overcome, problem solve, lead, brainstorm, hustle, tell stories and work in teams like an entrepreneur. We're not giving you a fish, we're teaching you how to fish.
Antidisciplinary does not mean without discipline. Nor does it mean inter-disciplinary, which implies people from different disciplines working together, which is not a bad thing. The goal of antidisciplinary is not to replace or remove disciplines, it is indeed something entirely different and emergent. Antidisciplinary exists outside of academic disciplines with the aim of bringing people together that are interested in disruptive ideas.
At some point, you're going to fail. So what. Fail quickly, fail cheaply and fail forward (learn from it). Dust yourself off and pivot, switchback or do what ever other cool-sounding maneuver you want to call it. Failure is a badge of honor - it means you tried something outside of your comfort zone and it didn't quite work out. You've learned more than you realize in the process. You're not 'starting over' just 'starting again'. This is why you're now seeing phoenix imagery around the HUB!
Brewed Ideas Challenge
In partnership with Brady Corporation
The Brewed Ideas Challenge is only possible through the 707 Hub's longstanding partnership with Brady Corporation. The Challenge is not only the largest event (actually series of events) at the 707 Hub it is also the oldest, celebrating it's 10 year anniversary in 2024. Finalists working with Mentors from Brady, participate in a series of bootcamps to develop their business idea so that they are able to pitch for seed money (think Shark Tank, but with out the equity at stake)!
Methods in Ignatian Innovation
Part of Marquette's Core Curriculum
New in Fall 2024, Methods in Ignatian Innovation is not a lecture based note-taking class. It is an active class; a 'doing' class - it is experiential learning. Though a series of workshops, guest speakers and hands-on activities, students will develop a set of skills and a mindset to help them achieve the change the want to see in the world.
